A Competitive Sport of Body Figure! Kamla Macko, born and raised in Miami, FL. Both parents are from the island of Jamaica, with mother Sandi Morais is a Fitness Lifestyle Coach, and the author of “Recipe for Life Vegetarian/Vegan” cookbook. Her  father is a chef and an avid weightlifter. Kamla is now a professional IFBB Figure-Pro (International Federation of Body Building and Fitness) and she is also an Olympia igure athlete. Kamla attended Miami Dade College, and studies at Florida International University in receiving her degree in Exercise Science/ Strength and Conditioning. Competing had changed her life, because now she had to be very conscious of what she ate daily. As a Health & Fitness Coach, training her client's consists of warm-ups that includes certain types of stretching to get the body ready for the workout. Certain types of strength training exercises that use resistance to help with muscle contraction to build strength. The Benefits of Drinking water by Kamla.

In our January/February 2020 issue Kamla Macko shares the health benefits of  drink water and importance of staying hydrated. She alway stress the importance of staying hydrated to her clients. Water is crucial for your health and well-being. In Dr. Don Calbert's Book "The Seven Pillars of Health," he states water is the first pillar of health. According to research drinking water on a regular basis supplies your body with many health benefits of lubricates your muscles, joints, and healthy glowing skin. Drinking plenty of water helps fight against flu and other ailments like kidney stones and heart attack. Water adds with lemon is used for ailments like respiratory disease, intestinal problems, rheumatism and arthritis etc. In other words, one of the benefits of drinking enough water is an improved immune system. Water is essential for the kidneys and other bodily functions. When dehydrated, the skin may become more vulnerable to skin disorders and wrinkling. In January we bring awareness to "Cervical Health Awareness Month." with our Beauty 411:Skin Care/Fitness Journalist, Maria “Ria Mali” Mixon brings awareness and shares her testimony of being pregnant, having Cervix/Ovarian Cancer, and now a Cancer Survivor. Hearing that I was pregnant with my 4th child was so exciting. I always wanted a big family. Hearing that I had cervical cancer while pregnant though was a shocker. To be honest, I only cared about having a healthy baby. I wasn’t scared for me. When I was younger, I didn’t take care of myself like I should have. I didn’t think pap smears were important and I always made an excuse not to get one. I only took care of myself while I was pregnant. I never missed my Dr appointments when I was pregnant with all of my children. I loved being a mom. When I was 18 years old I woke up one day with a terrible stomach pain. I couldn’t even straighten up. I went to the hospital and was told that I had a pelvic inflammatory disease. That’s when some of my issues began. ...Click here to read her story
